Dance is a great sport for children.
Initiation to the music, education of the rhythm, discover of their own
bodies, moves coordination, artistic feeling…Dance can offer them a lot.
According to the disposition and will of your children there are many
different ways to practice this sport.
Between 4 and 6 years old, there is the
awakening period. Children explore the dance movements through games
without specific link with Dances. The main target is the discovery of
rhythm and becoming sensitive to the music.
After 7 years old there is the true
beginning of the dance period. Children will discover their body through
their imagination as well as the different types of couple dances. This
is a first technical step according to the sensitivity and ability of
each child.
Dance is a sport activity very energetic,
combining fun and work as they remain focused on what they do. Dance
develops rhythm, muscles, artistic expression, memory, precision,
balance and coordination. They are requested to memorize figures and
choreography and at the same time lead or being lead. The dance is the
physical activity which allows children to use their body as a
spontaneous expression and communication. There is also a strong social
aspect with couple dances, by meeting and sharing with other children.
This field of dance is a space of freedom, no judgment which allows the
children to express themselves and forget their shyness.
